EZ Bus Alert Helps With Back to School Bus Schedules

The Crete-Monee School District 201-U, located 30 minutes south of Chicago, has ten schools and an enrollment of 5000 students. At the outset of each school year, the Crete-Monee transportation staff was tasked with notifying parents about their student's bus-stop information. with nearly 75% bus ridership, thousands of notifications were required.

Contact Strategy
Crete-Monee deployed SchoolReach's EZ Bus Stop Alert, which enabled administrators to deliver a pre-recorded phone message to all parents regarding their child's bus stop information. As with all SchoolReach services EZ Bus Stop Alert is a 'hosted' solution, so Crete-Monee could initiate the service without installing costly computer equipment, software or phone lines.
To ensure thorough coverage and retention of the information, EZ Bus Stop Alert delivered two notices to parents prior to the start of school; the first notice was sent 1-2 weeks out and the second notice was sent the night before the first day of school
"We implemented SchoolReach's basic phone broadcast service to help manage important communications to parents, such as school closings and important event reminders," said Heidi Gonzalez., Community Liaison for Crete-Monee School District. "Our parents were already accustomed to our phone communications so when we learned about EZ bus Stop, we already had a successful track record to base out decision on. Our team at ShcoolReach made the implementation quick and easy, and we were able to begin using the system almost immediately."

Successful Results
"Countless man hours and thousands of dollars in printing and postage were spent to complete this communications effort," said Gonzalez. "But now that we have EZ Bus Alert, we have not only saved time and Money, but our parents are informed and happy to know in advance exactly how their precious cargo is getting from home to school and back again." Since this is likely the first SchoolReach message new parents to Crete-Monee receive, it also sets the stage for future communications. "Our parents learn quickly that we deliver important information to them via SchoolReach and this causes them to respond well to our calls."
