Parents at Kingsley Junior High School in Normal, IL were alerted to the sudden death of a 7th grader via a SchoolReach alert sent by a school official. The student had collapsed after what school officials called friendly "horseplay" in the lavatory between class periods.
School officials used the SchoolReach system to provide immediate information to parents on the situation and to confirm the extremely sad news of the student's passing following the collapse.
"The family of the student, his friends, peers, teachers and staff at Kingsley are in our thoughts and prayers," said Joe Palacios, president of GroupCast, the parent company of SchoolReach.
