Minnesota Volunteer Organization Benefits from GroupCast Instant Notification

It was the dead of winter and an elderly woman named Virginia needed help. The temperature outside was 26 degrees below zero and her furnace went out. She didn't know what to do, so she called the Crow Wing County's RSVP program. Program Director Mike Koecheler contacted all 1,067 volunteers with a single phone call and within eight minutes a volunteer was on his way to help Virginia. Within an hour she had a fully functioning furnace again, was safe and warm, and out of danger.

GroupCast, parent company of SchoolReach Instant Parent Notification, is able to help in the organization of volunteer efforts. The Minnesota-based RSVP network is a group of over 1,000 volunteers that stands ready to help elderly individuals in their area. When a need arises volunteers can be contacted immediately, with a single phone call, saving Program Director Mike Koecheler the overwhelming task of calling people individually until he happens upon someone with their volunteer group who is available to help. GroupCast makes it all possible.
