City of Clarksville uses GroupCast to Announce Boil Order

Residents in the city of Clarksville, MO were without water through part of the weekend and a boil order remains in effect until further notice. On Friday, a break occurred inside the water plant. Kathy Weiss, the city's utilities systems operator, explained one of the plastic fittings busted and water began spewing everywhere.

Flynn Drilling installed all the piping when the $470,000 plant was constructed two years ago. Weiss said she contacted the company on Friday. The water was shut down and a special adhesive was used to bind the area.
"When we turned the water on the pipe blew apart," Weiss said.

Smiley said the city worked with the county to get water to residents on Sunday. A message was also sent out on the GroupCast system to notify the 490 residents of Clarksville of the situation."The county brought in a 2,000 gallon tank of potable water and we had containers here outside of city hall. We also had some bottled water."
