To minimize administration and to increase the accuracy of parent and staff notifications, list data on SchoolReach should be current with the records found on a school’s student information software/system (“SIS”). To accommodate this process, SchoolReach offers a universal solution to automatically synchronize SIS changes with your SchoolReach account. SchoolReach also accommodates manual data entry, as well as, semi-automatic file import (.txt or CSV), so there are multiple ways to create and manage list data.

Whether your district or school is using, Pearson, STI, SASI, PowerSchool, e-SIS, Infinite Campus or a “home grown” SIS solution, the SchoolReach SIS Data Integrator will seamlessly migrate updates from your system to ours. While SIS packages have unique features, graphics and modules, at their core they represent a repository for storing student, parent/guardian and staff data records. As a consequence, SIS packages support data import and export in .txt and/or CSV format – the lowest common denominator for data integration. This functionality combined with basic “scheduled services” commands allows your SIS program to create and save updates to a pre-designated file location on a school/district server. The SchoolReach SIS Data Integrator software sweeps this file location on a daily basis and opens an internet path between the two systems to facilitate data transfer

Data and system security is secured by means of GeoTrust 128-bit SSL data encryption process imbedded in the Data Integrator software. Once the process is triggered, a secure path is created between the school and SchoolReach systems so that outside visibility and access to data transfer is negated

Activation is accomplished via installation of two software applets on server with LAN or WAN access to the host SIS system. Once the Data Integrator applet and the Data Integrator Configuration tool are loaded, a few simple configuration steps are all that is needed to program the gateway.  SchoolReach Client Services personnel will work with the IT administrator of your district to complete the install process

Any number of specific update files can be created and sent, for example lists for all students within a building, grade, bus route or class can be automatically generated and transmitted making those lists current and available for use. Daily attendance/absentee files can also be sent thus establishing a means to automate attendance calls
